One address for everything: hello@plainhvac.com
It is read by a person, not a queue, and most messages get an answer within a few days.
Corrections come first
If something on this site is factually wrong, tell us and it gets fixed. Corrections from people who work in the trade jump the queue — the point of this site is to be right, not to look right, and an installer pointing out a mistake is doing us a favour.
When you write, the useful things to include are the page, the specific claim, and what it should say instead. Even a one-line “your figure for X is wrong, it is actually Y” is worth sending. Every correction that changes an article gets noted on the page with the date.
If you work in the trade
This site does not currently carry technical review by a certified technician, and it says so openly on the about page. We are looking to change that.
If you are certified and would consider reviewing articles — paid, credited, or on whatever basis makes sense — that is a conversation worth having. So is simply arguing with something we have published.
What we cannot do
We cannot diagnose your system by email. Nobody can, and anyone who offers to is guessing.
We do not have eyes on your building, your equipment, its age, its charge, its electrical supply or how it was installed. A guide that describes typical cases is genuinely useful; a stranger guessing at your specific fault from a paragraph of description is not, and could cost you money or safety.
If you have a fault, the guides in troubleshooting are written to help you work out whether you need a technician and what to ask them. That is the honest limit of what a website can do.
- We do not recommend specific contractors or accept payment to.
- We do not review products in exchange for being sent them.
- We do not publish sponsored posts or paid links.
Press, and everything else
Same address. If you want to reproduce a diagram or a table from the site, ask — the answer is usually yes with attribution and a link.
What happens to your email
Your message is used to reply to you and nothing else. It is not added to a mailing list, not shared, and deleted when the exchange is finished. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
